Embedded Software Engineer: can you trust a compiler in safety critical systems?


My client is launching a project to investigate the quality of the code generated by Ada compilers used in safety-critical systems. Do you have the investigative and analytical mind to be able to assess the quality of the object code?

They are looking for a methodological, perfectionist who can really dig into the details of the code generation. This job calls for technical brilliance and innovative thinking alongside a keen eye for quality and well-developed problem-solving abilities.

Based in North Yorkshire, working closely with the Engineering Services Manager, you will play a key role in verification of compiler technology, providing insight into how compilers work, and testing code generation. You will need experience of reliable software and embedded or real-time systems. The role may develop into other areas of software development, quality assurance, testing, field application engineer or embedded software programming, depending on the successful candidate's skills and career plans.

  • 2 years software experience
  • Degree level qualifications in Computer Science or a related discipline (a 2.1 or higher).
