Storage & Virtualisation Architect

Should be a Subject Matter Expert in S&V with prior experience in a similar role

Expert knowledge of;
· VMware ESX 5.5 & 6, vCenter 5.x & 6, vCloud – architecture, design & best practice
· NetApp, EMC, HP Storage systems – architecture, design & best practice
· Cisco UCS B-Series, C-Series & HP Blade and Chassis server systems – architecture, design & best practice
· Windows Servers 2k8, 2k12, including Active Directory & Domain Services
· Converged infrastructure solutions such as Flexpod, VSPEX, VBlock
· Citrix XenDesktop 7.6 / VDI & DaaS (Desktop as a Service)
· Architecture principles such as TOGAF (although TOGAF not essential)

Good knowledge of;
· Microsoft Hyper-V
· IBM Compute & Storage – i-Series mainly, however any knowledge of P-series would be very useful
· Hyper-Converged Infrastructure solutions such as Nutanix, Simplivity, EVO:Rail
· Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure IaaS services
· Orchestration and Automation principles and industry tools/approaches
· Linux, Unix, AIX (not essential, but nice to have)

Non-technical Skills
· Outstanding technical documentation skills
· 80% Consultancy based, i.e. working with key enterprise customers to assist with their strategic direction around specific technologies and infrastructure needs.
· 20% research & development of new solutions / technologies in our in-house lab
· Providing technical design authority (TDA) oversight for large scale projects
· Creating architectural artefacts such as reference architectures, technical blueprints, use cases, capabilities, standards and high-level designs

Preference given to experience rather than accreditation
