Job description
* To take responsibility for internal and customer systems ensuring design, deployment, maintenance and support activities are delivered in accordance with the high expectations of the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
General
* Day to day housekeeping and maintenance of internal and customer servers and applications including DNS, radius, database management, VMWare, email and NMS (Network Monitoring System).
* To produce processes, procedures and documentation to ensure that servers and applications are deployed, maintained and supported in a uniform way.
* To identify, design and deploy new systems
* To take a lead role in troubleshooting and recovering from 'network down' emergencies caused by the failure of servers or applications.
* To provide internal support to the Technical Support Helpdesk where necessary to assist in the identification and resolution of faults relating to server or application failures and implementation of change requests.
* To take part in an 'on-call' rota to deal with network issues that occur outside of normal office hours.
* To ensure that servers and applications are backed up in a timely fashion.
