Job Description: IT Application Administrator/Newcastle-Upon-Tyne

Job purpose: The role is responsible to support a number of major applications within the business with primary responsibility for the administration of our NetSuite ERP application and to support in the development of our SharePoint and CRM systems. The person will work as part of our internal IT service team and will be called upon to support other duties undertaken within this team. The role will require someone who has a technical focus but with a responsive and customer focussed attitude to ensure that the business obtains the best value and benefit from its systems.

Key responsibilities:
 

  • As a NetSuite Administrator the primary responsibility is to oversee the administration of the NetSuite application.  The Administrator should have a thorough understanding of the overall goals of the system and be able to react in cooperation with the appropriate business unit representatives to update and configure the system.
  • Regular tasks within this role will include:
    • Maintenance and daily management of the NetSuite application.
    • Technical and system administration, including data integration with multiple systems: e-mail marketing solution, member data mart, Web site and inventory management system.
    • Functional and technical requirements, system configuration, data integrity and all system-related policies and procedures. Define and write functional requirements based on staff business needs.
    • Providing front line support with regards to all aspects of NetSuite and data maintenance.
    • Primary point of contact to NetSuite Support.
    • Planning, reviewing and customizing NetSuite as needed to meet needs of staff.
    • System adoption and satisfaction, including training users on the NetSuite application relevant to their jobs; provide support to users and maintain proper system access; and support end user technical requests.
    • Monitoring end-user usage of systems, tracking performance, performing daily administrative and support tasks and maintaining and dating system documentation.
    • Development and implementation of policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure the quality of data and perform regular data audits; resolve of data integrity issues.
    • Development, functional testing and rollout of customizations, custom objects, new enhancements, application releases and system integration based on user/business needs.
    • Developing, documenting and following formal policies, procedures and protocols for changes, customization, standards, usage, etc.
    • Development and maintenance of custom application extensions using system API and third party tools.
    • Conducting data queries and integration of data from multiple systems – e.g. Web site, email database, etc. Responsible for providing product feedback to vendor and tracking of requested enhancements.
    • Managing the user licensing and administration of users
  • In addition as a NetSuite administrator you will be working with the business to maximise the benefits of the applications. This will involve working with internal customers and NetSuite to take advantage of opportunities to extend the usage and functionality of the application.

 

 

  • As part of a small team responsible for the administration of the company’s 365 SharePoint instance you will be assisting in the development and administration of a range of systems that have been developed across a broad range of subjects. Duties will include:
    • Working with internal customers to gather requirements
    • Training users in the use of SharePoint
    • Developing site templates and adding functionality
    • Working on the “look & Feel” of the site
    • Working on the company SharePoint Intranet
    • Adding content to various sites
    • Creating workflows to automate tasks and generate content
    • Customising core files to develop the companies Intranet
    • Develop training materials
    • Evangelising the use of SharePoint and looking to add benefit to teams and departments that are not realising the benefits of SharePoint
    • Researching the current SharePoint marketplace

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of and experience using JavaScript, HTML, XML, Crystal and SQL is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint Designer, Visio and MS Project desirable.
  • Office 365 knowledge and experience would be desirable
  • Experience of working with users to gather requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills essential
  • Confidence and the ability to make presentations to staff at all levels of the business

 

Person Specification 

  • Graduate with a Business and IT background
  • Work experience in a business process analysis and/or IT administration role preferred
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication, written and presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis techniques and ability to apply them to real world scenarios
  • Good data analysis and reporting skills
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Training in NetSuite and SharePoint will be provided but previous experience would be a benefit.
