Support Technician – Managed Services - £23k plus benefits

Location: Manchester

Salary: Negotiable depending upon experience

The role primarily involves proactive monitoring and management of a variety of backup solutions incorporating Microsoft, Dell and Symantec solutions as well as our Offsite Backup System for cloud based backups. In addition handling and resolving issues identified by ASM on a range of IT network technologies before they impact our client’s productivity is also a key element.

A varied, challenging and highly responsive role, the suitable candidate will already be involved in providing highly responsive IT managed services or IT system administration. The ability to identify performance trends and prioritise daily tasks and high business impact issues is expected.

The successful candidate will be very client service focussed, possess first rate communication skills and operate effectively within a professional team environment.

A good working knowledge of data protection and backup solutions is essential as well as a good grounding in IT networking fundamentals and messaging solutions. The candidate should possess at least 3 years’ experience gained in the following areas:

-Microsoft DPM

-Symantec Backup Exec

-Windows Server (up to and including 2012)

Ideally holding a current Microsoft MCSA, MCITP or similar vendor accreditation. Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

-Dell AppAssure

-Microsoft Exchange

-Server Virtualisation (HyperV / VMWare)

-Cisco LAN/WAN (routers, switches, ASAs)

-Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop
