Pre-Sales Consultant to deliver the Pre-Sales function in accordance with the overall business and team objectives. The successful applicant will work to ensure that the Sales, Marketing and Product Management departments receive the technical and sales support required. Based in Wakefield, the role includes full UK travel with a car allowance included.

Key activities:

  •   Support the Sales team in attendance at client meetings
  •   Technical Design Authority (TDA)
  •   Support, and in some cases leadership, in responding to tender documentation
  •   Work closely with colleagues to provide product, business and technical knowledge in support of activities
  •   Continuous self-learning in order to stay abreast of vendor product/portfolio developments
  •   Understand how changing product features and capabilities are applied to address requirements
  •   Deliver product and technical training to colleagues across all functions as required
  •   Confident presentation of proposed solutions to customers
  •   Leadership of virtual team to provide a Technical Account Management function for key accounts

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION – Key Criteria

Knowledge:

Required skills:
- Microsoft certified
- Knowledge of Exchange 2007, 2010 and 2013. Experience across Lync 2010 and 2013 is essential
- Knowledge of Active Directory
- 2 years' experience within a similar role

 Desirable but not a requirement:

  •   A high level understanding of VoIP, traditional technologies and call centre concepts
  •   A working knowledge of MPLS WAN and "last mile" access technologies
  •   A high level of understand of Cisco routing and switching products
  •   Previous Pre-Sales experience in the managed hosting/telecommunications industry
  •   A broad knowledge of IT security-related services and technologies

Skills:

  •   Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  •   Proven ability to gather and clearly understand customer requirements
  •   Articulate, balanced and succinct in delivering complex information to a variety of audiences
  •   The ability to determine and capture business and technical requirements
  •   Proven to deliver formal training in a variety of technical disciplines and at varying levels
